The characters are...
Perce Blackborow:Perce is a young 17-18 year old boy, who has just gotten rescued from a shipwreck and taken to a nearby country where he signed up for another sea adventure. When he doesn't get picked, he stows away on the ship, and is taken off into the Arctic with Ernest Shackleton!

Setting

Problem

Point of View

This story is told from the author's point of veiw. You can see that by seeing that the book mostly never said "I", except for when they showed the journal entrys that the main character had. If it had been told by the main character, Perce would have said "I" when he was refering to himself.

Plot

Climax

The climax of the story is when the Endurance gets stuck in a block of ice-stranding the crew of the ship to a few years of ice-and more ice, and more ice, and more ice...

Resolution

The problem is resolved when Shackleton goes off to find help and finds a ship that will help the crew get back home. He visits two islands to pick up the split up group, and they are off to the place that they have been craving to go to for at least 2 years- home, sweet home.

Author's Message

The Author's Message of this story is to never give up- no matter how hard things get. When the crew of the Endurance was stranded on the Arctic, they didn't give up when they had no ship, no way of getting home, and no single crew member that had faith that they would make it home.
